Trade Shows: Utilizing Traditional Media
Is this because smaller trade shows are of no interest to trade show visitors? No! It simply suggests that the trade show visitors may not be aware of these trade shows, are concerned about spending valuable time and money on a trade show, of which, they have little or no feedback on, etc.
In order to encourage and build trade show interest, the trade show industry should rely on traditional media (as well as new media: see my blog on the trade show industry utilizing new media to expand interest). Trade show organizers and trade show exhibitors are crying out for media coverage, but few have taken the plunge. As a result, it will require a new breed of trade show and media gurus to bring the two together--and in a big way!
Visit Trade Shows, Inc. is a company that has taken the requests to heart. It is currently working with trade show organizers, trade show exhibitors, cable operators, satellite operators, television networks, etc. to bring the world of trade shows to the rest of the world and the desire of trade show visitors. Trade Shows: The Benefits of Utilizing New Media
- Price per square foot (booth space).
- The number of trade show exhibitors.
- The number of trade show visitors (attendees).
- Overall revenue.
We are exploring new ways to create a community dedicated to trade shows:
- trade show organizers,
- trade show exhibitors, and
- trade show visitors (attendees).
The internet and its associated technologies, such as using the cell/mobile phone to visit websites, watch television, watch video, text, etc. are opening doors, not previously considered a decade ago within the trade show industry (22nd largest in the world). With the emerging cellular technologies, such as 3G/3.5G (CDMA and its various permutations, EvDo, WiMax, and others) and the upcoming specifications for 4G, the possibilities abound. In fact, did you know that 4G technologies are expected to allow its users to visit and download content at speeds between 100 Mbits/s and 1 Gbits/s, enabling high-definition video watching, seamless video chatting, conferencing, and a plethora of other possibilities?
We enable trade show organizers to increase the price per squre foot by providing additional services to the trade show exhibitors without cost to the trade show organizer or exhibitor. We also provide the trade show exhibitor with an additional reason to attend the trade show: we film the exhibitor discussing, displaying, and demonstrating their products and/or services for two minutes. This film is then shown on television and the internet.
We assist trade show organizers by increasing the number trade show visitors (attendees) for each trade show we film. Not only do we capture the two minutes for each exhibitor, but we also capture the sights and sounds of the trade show, too. Filming and airing and displaying the video of the trade show increases the base of visitors for the trade show. For example, we will show the film on television around the world and through our internet website, http://www.visittradeshows.com/; thus, increasing the reach and promotion of the trade show. A successful medium size trade show may have 60,000 trade show visitors, but the television and internet have the potential to connect with millions of viewers (trade show visitors) for the current trade show, while simultaneously promoting next year's trade show, as well.
Providing additional value to the trade show exhibitor, Visit Trade Shows, Inc., enables the trade show organizers to increase revenues, by increasing the price per booth. The increased value of price per booth is supported by the marketing opportunity provided by Visit Trade Shows, Inc. to the trade show exhibitor.

The Impact of New Media on the Trade Show Industry
Visit Trade Shows, Inc. is interested in using the internet, DVD, CD, television, television enabled cell (mobile) phones, and other uses to bring trade shows to parts of the world who would otherwise be unable to visit and experience a trade show. This works both ways, however, because now exhibitors may reach out to these visitors, while the visitors reach back.
I encourage everyone to join me in exploring the vast opportunity available to us to enable mass communication on a level not considered before, for the world's 22nd largest industry--the trade show industry.
Thank you,
